T-filters are used to produce a clean medium by filtering out harmful particles. T-filters are installed in pipelines and, by contrast with inline filters, allow maintenance or replacement of the filter element without removing the filter from the pipeline system.
The filter element made from sintered stainless steel has a large number of miniature holes. Particles that are larger than the holes cannot pass through the filter. This results in a clean medium. After a certain period of operation, the holes become blocked by particles and the pressure drop increases. This depends on the total flow rate through the elements and the purity of the medium upline of the filter. The element then has to be replaced to ensure a clean medium with low pressure drop.
With the FT Series, filter elements made from sintered stainless steel can be changed without having to remove the filter from the pipeline system. The nominal pore size of the filter elements lies between 1 and 150 micrometres. An optional bypass cap allows samples to be taken without having to interrupt the process.
